Project: Fitted Wardrobes White Shaker Doors

06 December 2011

The clients had already used The Fitted Wardrobe Company to create bespoke fitted wardrobes for another bedroom. Being very impressed with our products and service they invited us to put forward a proposal for their master bedroom.

They wanted us to create fitted furniture that was bright, elegant and timeless. For that reason they went for a Shaker design on the doors and exterior drawer fronts. To keep the room bright and airy, we decided to supply in the interior in a brilliant white finish as well.

The shape of the room leant itself very well to built in furniture. The room consists of not one, but two chimney breasts. One is fairly typical in size and positioning. The other is a little unusual. You can see it on the near side of the room. As we manufacture furniture that is made to measure, down the millimetre, we were expertly able to specify furniture to work around these obstacles.

To the left of the chimney breast we specified a shallow (400mm deep) linen closet. This would provide amble shelf storage without taking up too much room. To the right of the wardrobe we installed full depth fitted wardrobes. We incorporated a corner wardrobe to make most of the available space while disguising the unusual chimney.

As always we worked very closely with the clients to specify every aspect of the furniture. This not only included the exterior style and layout but also the interior. For instance the height of the hanging rails and the amount of drop was chosen to store specific items of clothing that the clients own.
